Cabin Fever?

It has been the Blizzard of 2011 here in South Carolina.  It began snowing Sunday night and we got nine inches according to the news!  Yee Haw!  I love me some snow.  Hubs and I have not left the compound since going to church Sunday. Yesterday our son asked me if we have cabin fever.  I said, "No, honey, we have lots of books and I have been sewing."....And a friend came over to play Scrabble yesterday :)

This morning Scout indicated maybe she was feeling feverish.  She ripped open her football and pulled out all the stuffing.  Not sure what she was thinking but she looked mighty pleased with herself :)  She has missed our daily runs; but she has walked to Granny's house with us....hopping like a rabbit to avoid frostbite on her belly, LOL.
I managed to finish this table runner before Valentines.  It was a lot of applique work but I love the way it turned out.  Ethel made a run to Florence for me to buy the white background fabric for me and she donated the awesome gold.  Most of the rest was remnants donated to me by Burney Byrd.  I love making something that cost me little or nothing :)
Sunday I put my Nearly Insane quilt on my bed to see how much further I had to go. Answer: A LOT farther.  I needed at least 25 or more blocks.  I have now knocked out nine of those.  I do love using scraps to turnout some interesting and unique blocks.

Have you been snowed in?  What have you been doing?

Yes I've been snowed in! And yes, I officially now have cabin fever! My boy and his dog unfortunately cannot play outside all day long. They tend to get cold. Imagine that! If it wasn't for a very active boy and dog and cat and a small house and a husband who is sleeping during the day, I think I'd be OK.

Love your table runner. It's so pretty! Do you take special orders? I think I'd like to commission a queen-size quilt for my bed.

In case you hadn't noticed, I added your L.M. Montgomery button for you :-)

Well, they are finally going to school today. However, they are on a three hour delay. Which meant I got the particular joy of coming to work, leaving work, going back to get them, taking them to school, coming back to work, and then going back to get them four hours later.

Enjoyable.

But a definite cure for cabin fever. They also have a furlough day tomorrow, so, JOY, more time off! (I have a plan for entertainment though!)

Work took away our MLK and Pres. day holidays, too. So I am not loving snow right now. At all.

Love the quilts! Great work. Too bad mine isn't their to apprentice!
